The problem with offices is that despite all the high technology and computers that are present within the office space, you still need paper to record and send things. Computers can crash, paper can’t, storage spaces and places to keep things safe are still needed in an office. Office drawers are needed as well since everyone in an office usually has some form of desk to work from and without office drawers they have nowhere to place personal items and items that assist them in their workplace such as staplers and forms that they need to keep close by.
Office drawers are not going to become extinct as we still require a paper trail or some form of record that is not reliant on electrical storage that may be more at risk from hackers or simple malfunctions. Having somewhere close by that is easy to use is essential within an office space, space within a business area such as an office is tight and every part of the office is used for something nothing can be left empty as everything must have a function. Office drawers provide an extra method of discretely containing items such as forms and even pens that may simply clutter up the work area if they are allowed to pile up on the desk or floor.
Today having a desk means that you need it to look neat but also a desk must be your own personal work area, a lot of employees like to bring things within an office space that reminds them of home such as a picture of their children or spouse, some random case they bought to store their pens and various other items that make them feel comfortable. Having the paperwork they need to do stacked up on the desk itself is a waste of space in most cases, so having a place to keep objects such as spare forms that need to be filled in according to the regulations in the workplace itself is very important.
Today we still use paper, we still need somewhere to store it all and when you work at a desk or in your office it is always nice to have what you need within arm’s reach and that is why office drawers remain in our world today. The modern world may have given us huge potential for storing information but in the end there are still forms that need to be filled out and records need to be kept that cannot be placed onto a computer alone, office drawers are here to stay for that reason as well as many others.
